Financial aid let down :0(

I finally heard back from the financial aid department. Oh wait, thats right I had to march my butt down to the office to go check on my status. Apparently nobody at the office knows how to pick up a phone and dial a number after 4 messages and 2 weeks later... But who's complaining?

So I go up to the lady and I find out that I have exhausted my financial aid for now.. Meaning that because I took credits in AZ that don't count for crap up here I have to come up with my own money to pay for my next 3 semesters.... Its not that big of a deal.. We were saving lots of money just in case this happened but still!!! I was really hoping that this wouldn't happen until I was done with my pre-reqs... Not everything was bad though I did find out that I will be able to get more financial aid when I get into nursing school :0) The "slate" as they say gets wiped clean I get to start all over with new credits!! Not all bad... But Its back to major savings and no xmas presents this year.. hopefully I will be able to afford a plane ticket to AZ for my sisters graduation.... (I'm sure I will)...

Mike has such confidence in me!! Love that man :0) I guess I will just have to actually try to sell some insurance products like I said I was going to do like 3 months ago... shhhh.. books are really really important!! Or maybe Mike will do more overtime for me... I am one lucky girl :0)

Nelson Wedding

September 12th, 2009

Saturday, was a true test for me. As most of you know we didn’t have the best wedding for ourselves (or so I thought). Let me start from the top… Mike and I cancelled our own wedding venue 2 weeks before our wedding and boycotted the whole thing… wore black shirts and jeans and got married at the court house.

Needless to say it has been something that has bugged me for our last 4 years of marriage. Your wedding day is just supposed to be every girls dream, right?? So when Mike got asked to be a groomsman for his new pal, Kyle, I was excited for Mike but as we got closer to the “big” day it started making me think about our wedding (or lack thereof). It didn’t hit me fully until Friday night on the way home from the rehearsal dinner, I was sure I would be a mess sitting in the crowd of people that I didn’t know watching Kyle and Jessica saying their vows. This made me nervous!!!

Saturday, we got up super early (after getting home late on Friday) and headed out to pick Nick (another groomsman) up to head out to beautiful La Conner! We got to the hotel at 12:30, and Mike and the boys had to rush to get dressed… They had all been told they had to be ready by 1:00pm for pictures… I thought that was super early because the wedding didn’t start until 5 that night… but anyway, I left the room and when I came back in they were all dressed up in their tuxes!!! All of them were so handsome!!! Mike especially took me by surprise… I have always thought I married a gorgeous man but my gosh… In a tux he is just scrumptious… ;0)
We got to the venue, which on a 90 degree day in Washington, In September, (no clouds at all) it was absolutely beautiful!!!!!! What a wonderful day to get married… I got to take tons of pictures of the guy’s and sat around until about 2:30 when the bride and photographer FINALLY showed up after an hour and half of the guys (all of them) complaining about being hot in their “Monkey” suits… From that moment on it was busy and running around helping get this or that and watching them take pictures… So fun!!!

My feet were killing me by the time the guests got there and the wedding actually started.. I can just imagine how the bride (Jessica) was feeling. Watching Mike walk up the aisle was fun and the vows were beautifully written. The only problem was that the sun was setting so we couldn’t see much… But we got the point!! They looked so happy and tired…
The food was great and the dancing was fun… yes we danced… I got to see sides of Kyle and Jessica that I haven’t ever seen before and it was a whole lot of fun! Plus I met some very nice people and hope to get to hang out with them again soon… The most important thing taken from this experience has been that our wedding was perfect… The little one that Mike and I did have was exactly us… I don’t see us being able to put up with the whole extravagant wedding and all the clichés that take place… we had something that fit us, and at the end of the day its all the same right… They spent god knows how much to have the same thing we have!!! A signed piece of paper that says we are stuck together for life…lol..

(I’m still getting pictures taken in my dress and him in a Tux
